stay
Emerald Valley Apartments sit in the heart of Bovec — a Slovenian mountain town wrapped in green valleys and alpine peaks. A place that welcomes you not as a guest, but as family.
The owner is half the reason Emerald Valley belongs in our collection. She understands neurodivergence. She's patient, kind, and her presence is in every detail — soft linens, warm welcome, knowing when to offer help and when to give a family space.
Step out of the apartment and you're in Bovec itself. Bakery three minutes on foot. Café on the corner. The Soča river five minutes by car. And yet — close the window — and you hear only the wind in the pines. A rare combination: central, and still in silence.
The apartments are spacious, light, and designed for calm. Soft lighting, quality textiles, a fully equipped kitchen, and a corner to retreat to. No surprises. Just a home for a few days — or weeks.

why we recommend it
Emerald Valley isn't just accommodation — it's a small piece of Bovec with a host who does what few can: she understands. For a family with a neurodivergent child, that's exactly what you sometimes need.
The owner understands neurodivergence. She's patient, kind, and makes sure every guest has what they need. The apartment feels like home, not like an accommodation.
Bakery, cafés, restaurants, pharmacy, supermarket — all within a few minutes on foot. For families with ND children a huge difference — no car trips for every little thing.
Mornings, you don't have to go anywhere — the owner prepares breakfast for the house guests. For families with ND children, where every extra bit of morning logistics means energy you'd rather save, this is a quiet win.
A pool just for house guests (May–October). For children who need water to regulate, this might be the most important amenity in the whole place. No crowds, no unfamiliar eyes.
An infrared red-light sauna — a gentler version of a traditional sauna, suitable for children and sensitive adults. Wonderful for unwinding after a long day in the mountains.
A fully equipped outdoor kitchen with a grill — cook and dine outside, under the stars. Ideal for families who'd rather eat together outside the walls.
A large shared outdoor seating area — a place where families gather, eat dinner, watch the mountains. You can sit together, or find your own quiet corner. Your choice.
For families with selective eaters or specific dietary needs, a relief: you eat when and what you need. Plus a washer and dryer for the whole house.
One house, five apartments of various sizes. Works for a family with one child as well as for an extended family or two families together. Small and compact — you never feel like you're in a crowd.
Bikes, helmets, and other sport equipment — you can borrow them directly from the host for free. Less stuff in your car, less logistics before the trip.
The apartments are wrapped in green valleys and alpine peaks. Step out the door and you're in nature. Walks on foot, mountains within reach, the Soča river five minutes by car.
best suited for
Families willing to put together their own programme — no animator, no welcome drink in the lobby. Works for a family with one child (smaller apartment) as well as an extended family or two families together (larger units).
Excellent for children who need calm and structure. Bovec is small enough that a child quickly memorises the orientation, and lively enough that there's always something to do.
things to consider
Roughly 8–9 hours by car from Prague. For a child whose first few days are wrecked by long transfers, plan to break the journey with an overnight in Austria both ways. Nearest airports: Ljubljana (~2 h by car) or Trieste.
The apartments have their own kitchens — you can shop right in Bovec (supermarket 6 minutes on foot). In peak summer season Bovec is lively (tourists, cafés), but on the surrounding mountain trails you'll still find absolute calm.
booking & contact
You can arrange your stay directly with the host — she replies quickly and personally.
